Aside from its cloud service, the device also has a built-in siren to scare off potential burglars. You can set it to automatically react to detected motion or you can initiate the siren while watching a live feed.By subscribing to its cloud plan, you’ll be able to stream recorded videos through the app. If you choose to save your videos locally, you’ll need to pull out the SD card and insert it in another viewing device.

Remocam’s basic function is to help you keep an eye at your home whether you’ll be out for a short trip to the grocery store or a long weekend out of town. What’s good about the device is that it also has the ability to monitor your property even in the dark

One downside of the camera is its resolution. Although it may not be able to give you the clearest videos all the time, it still should be enough to let you see things, particularly at night. Remember, it only has a 720p resolution.

Installion

Setting up Remocam is easy. It includes a Quick Start Card that will guide you through the process.

Here’s how you can install it at home:

1. Place the camera in your desired location.
2. Plug it into an outlet using its 10-feet cord. If you want to mount it, Remocam has a mounting bracket which you can buy for $7.
3. The next step is to download the app and create an account using your email address.
4. After confirming your email address, you can connect the camera to your Wi-FI.
5. Once you’re done with the connection, just place your phone in front of your camera and allow it to scan and recognize the unique QR code.
6. Wait for a few seconds for the registration to be completed.

In terms of security, Remocam uses 256-bit AES encryption (read: extremely secure) to make sure no one can hack and watch your live video feeds at home. This is the same type of encryption banks use.
